Have you read the book Twilight? Or seen the movie? I’ve always had my doubts about the concept of Vampires- blood sucking creatures who can’t die. But it’s not unthinkable totally because even when we don’t have vampires around us, there are always people who suck out the positive energy from us.
Harry Potter also has the character of the Dementors that suck the happy memories out of a person’s mind. Interestingly, the dementors were made out of author JK Rowling’s personal experience with depression.
All of us, we have these over enthusiastic people who have no idea what they are talking or asking. As soon as they realise that we are a little down, they try to poke us and bring us even more down. They can’t see us happy either. They know our weaknesses and find utmost pleasure in pointing them out.
These people may have no sense of their own lives but want to peep into your house, family, computer screens, and what not.
They ask questions but they don’t want answers. They just want to see you not being able to answer.
Their observations are not observations that they are pointing out with a good intention. They are well-framed taunts.
They derive energy from sucking your energy away. Such are the energy suckers. Save yourself from them.
Technically, there’s no easy way out of such people. If you ignore them, they’ll keep going on until you notice them. If you notice them, they enjoy it. Either you kick them out of your life or learn to confront their idosyncracies. Challenge them logically while in public, answer back, be witty and make them feel exactly like they make you feel. In reality, these are the most insecure people. These are bullies, abusers and narcissists.
In reality, these are the most insecure people. These are bullies, abusers and narcissists. They will stop coming your way only when you know that they can’t intimidate you. To begin with, stop taking them seriously. Inside your mind, laugh at their pitiable situation. They are very sad people from within and can never be truly happy.
Either you kick them out of your life (which you can’t do if it is a family member or someone very close) or learn to confront their idiosyncracies. Challenge them logically while in public, answer back, be witty and make them feel exactly like they make you feel.
They will retaliate, say meaner things. But you don’t expect respect from such people, right? Only after you confront them, the energy suckers will begin losing their colour.
In the long term, energy suckers are better as far away from you.
